Hello y Hola!
My name is Ary Bautista Hernandez. I was born in Mexico City and transplanted to rural North Carolina on the horizon of my third birthday. I am a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. I worked hard in high school and participated in literally everything I could: Theatre, ROTC, Band, Youth Orchestra, Sports, and Summer Camps.
I took my tenacity and ambition to the mountains of western North Carolina to Appalachian ( pronounced "Appa-Latch-Uh") State University to pursue a BSBA. I was an active and engaged member in the college of business (CoB) and within my Apparel Design and Merchandising program. I discovered my interests in photography, art, and history through classes outside of the CoB. Outside of academia, I had at least one part-time job and sometimes even two. I created my success and learned from my failures.
I was awarded the Gilman Scholarship and had the privilege of studying abroad in Madrid, Spain for 6 months. This was my first time outside of the country. I grew up with no memories of Mexico and my life in the United States was all I had ever known. I had to adapt to a totally new environment. I gained a deeper appreciation for my family who decided to take themselves out of their comfort zone and environment to pursue a better life. Experiencing culture shock and missing my home, friends, and family helped me understand what it feels to be entirely foreign.
A resume can only tell you what i have done so I made this website to show you what I have done.
